We adopted him as a newborn but he had significant prenatal drug exposure and has a very overactive brain, among other things. He is a blessing, a miracle, and a great kid but parenting him is hard. I can relate to many of the things you described and just hope and pray that God will give us the tools to parent him the way he needs us to. Thanks for the post.quailenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05762371959668633520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7668050648919046122.post-76486946423831806782016-12-15T22:39:53.137-05:002016-12-15T22:39:53.137-05:00This was beautifully said! Just received a major learning disability diagnosed in my oldest bio kid...and as we open our foster care license any day (for the first time, but have adopted previously) the enemy has used this "failure" or imperfection to fling doubts, inadequacies, ways I have "ruined" my kids in my face. I needed these words. Thank you. The truth is...my kids are already "ruined". My job is just to point them diligently to the merciful fixer, healer, redeemer, and the one who can use them in the midst of the flaws. Not me but Jesus Christ. I felt so relieved to be truly heard and understood and to come away with realistic expectations, and ways to help my son have more good days than bad days. Such a gift!mitzy wickershamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15031796306624404920noreply@blogger.com
