Praising God and Learning Patience

I can tell from the blog stats that many of you have been refreshing waiting to hear how things went. I can't tell you how much it means to us that so many of you were praying. We really did feel it. The appointment went well. We were kind of nervous because we had to take the boys with us but it turned out just fine.

The funny part was that the technician kindly did the brain and head measurements first so I could then breathe and get through the rest. She said that everything looked perfectly normal! Then she went on to measure the other things and get a few pictures and peek at the gender. It is a good thing she did he important stuff first because cooperation is not a strong suit for this little one!

This child is proving to have a personality all his/her own. We were not able to get ONE picture of a profile or face. We got one picture and it was of a foot! We also were not able to confirm the gender...you will have to keep guessing! :-) We got the important info though. The baby looks to be about 12 ounces and is doing just fine.

The doctor we met with after the scan said that this was all very good news and very reassuring. He then asked what he could do to make me rest easier. I asked why with Isaac the issues were not found until 37 weeks and he said that one reason is probably that they were not looking for anything and the bigger reason probably was that they have updated technology since then. The scans they do now are more detailed and able to catch things much earlier. He said that we should feel very reassured.

We go back in four weeks for another scan. SO today we are rejoicing and praising our God for the good news we have received. We never know what tomorrow holds, but we are sure that God is good and he is doing a new thing!

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19

So glad to hear that your sweet baby looked good. HAHA that he or she would not show his/her face or gender. What a little stinker!

We had our 20 week appointment today also so I was thinking of you and praying for you the whole time. We found out we are having our third girl and she looks healthy.

Will continue to pray for your little one to be healthy! Glad you get to back in four weeks for more peace of mind and maybe a sneak peek at the gender.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME TO HEAR! :)

Isn't it a breath of fresh air? Getting through that 20 week scan was such a hurdle. Since then I've felt like it was a normal pregnancy that I could enjoy fully without getting wrapped up in problems and worries.

Now I have to work at not worrying about all the other things I can worry about. But that's the nature of having faith I guess. God grows us by showing us more we need to walk through right? I don't know that I like learning faith. Or patience for that matter.

Sorry to hear this little one isn't being cooperative - but then again, more to be surprised by later on. I'd say your odds for pink are pretty high though after four boys. But what do I know??? :)

Hugs and more hugs!

Dear Kristy:

You don't know me, but I found your blog through stringofpearls. I just have to tell you how blessed I have been to read your journey. I must have spent two hours yesterday reading. I must not have gotten far enough, however, because I didn't realize that you were pregnant now until this morning. Please know that I will be praying for you.

My husband, daughter and I are walking the path that you walked with a little different circumstances. I found out in November at 17 1/2 weeks that we are expecting conjoined twins, Anna and Emma. They aren't expected to live if they make it to birth. I have only recently (like in the last week) been able to read the stories of other mothers who have lost babies. I must tell you that one of my struggles has been whether or not I could watch them die. Would it just be easier if the Lord took them to be with Him from me? I can now say after reading your journey and some others, that I am prepared--even longing to have a little time with my girls before they go home. Thank you for your ministry.

In Christ,
Paige Wright

Congratulations, I just read about the great news! I haven't been reading a whole lot lately---Joshua keeps me really busy, especially lately (not doing well). God Bless you and your little miracle. You are such a wonderful family.

I had to smile at your comment about the site meter. I'm slightly obsessed with checking mine, but wonder what's going on when I get more than five "hits" in a day. I know...I'm crazy, but SO happy you got good news (and, I wasn't "refreshing" your blog because I can "secretly" watch for updates on "google reader"...)

Take care,
Amanda

I know I already commented, but I was just laughing to myself about how uncooperative this little one was about getting his/her picture. My sister is DYING to know what she is having and I would NEVER wish for her to have an uncooperative baby, but I'm sitting here laughing about what she would do...I'm not sure she can be that patient and probably would stay at the doctor's office all day until they could find out the gender :o)

Great news! I love the scripture you ended your post with. God has told me the same thing many times after Jenna went to be with Jesus.

Oh Kristy, that is such great news. I am always praying for your family. Maybe not seeing anything means it is a girl:) How fun would that be?! I am excited for the next ultrasound to see the gender!

Praise the Lord! I am so glad it went well! Your little one sounds like my little guy - we haven't been able to get any good shots of his face/profile either. It's so neat how they already are showing such a personality at such a young age. I'll keep praying for you all!
