I am a 30 something year old mom of five precious boys and two sweet girls. Five of our children are here with us and two are in the arms of Jesus. Our sweet baby girl Hope was diagnosed with Dystrophic Epdermolysis Bullosa and our youngest son came to us through adoption, our youngest daughter through foster care, and I've recently been diagnosed with malignant melanoma the Lord has shown us just how Faithful He is. We will continue to Journey and follow Him where ever He leads. We feel very blessed that God chose us to be the parents of each of our kids, and we look forward to what He has in store for us in foster care!
I just want to thank you all for all of your thoughts and prayers for our family. You have no idea how much it helps to know we are being lifted up by each of you and to know we are loved. So, thank you! I feel less alone each and every day!

Hi Kristy,
I was just sent the link to your blog today - what a wonderful way for you to not only share all of this emotional information with your family and friends, but to allow yourself to keep a journal as part of your own coping as well.
Happy, you, Howard and your whole family are, of course, in my prayers each day. I wish I had any kind of inspiring God-given words for you, but as you have stated, no one truly knows what you are going through - just know that I'd be happy to be a friend who is willing to listen and give support! Please don't hesitate to let me know if you need anything. Hopefully we'll see you next Tuesday at Val's house!!
Take a deep breath and continue to hang in there! :o)
A couple supportive verses for you: "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will run and not frow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:28-31 It's amazing what God can do and I hope you know you are much stronger than you give yourself credit for!!
Kristy, Thank you so much for your prayers for us. We are in awe of what God has done. Even before we got any good or even definitive news, I had a very real sense that God felt our pain, that He grieved with us. I am reminded that that is what Christmas is all about...God has entered our world, right where we're at, in the midst of our pain and helplessness and He walks with us. I have no idea why God works as He does, I cannot see the bigger picture. I cannot explain why God has intervened on our behalf and I think that's what I stuggle with the most in our situation. One thing I do know...God loves you, He loves Happy so much more than you ever could, and He shares your feelings. I continue to pray for you, asking our big God for big things. Love, Melanie The Lord your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with singing.
Go ahead and mention my child, The one that died, you know. Don't worry about hurting me further. The depth of my pain doesn't show. Don't worry about making me cry. I'm already crying inside. Help me to heal by releasing The tears that I try to hide. I'm hurt when you just keep silent, Pretending she didn't exist. I'd rather you mention my child, Knowing that she has been missed. You asked me how I was doing. I say "pretty good" or "fine". But healing is something ongoing I feel it will take a lifetime. ~ Elizabeth Dent ~
