Asher's Birthday

For Asher's birthday celebration this year we decided to do the same thing we did last year and take the kids to our FAVORITE local hotel (that we discovered last year when a friend got us a room there for Asher's birthday). They have a beautiful pool room and rooms that open right into the pool. We had a nice time. We focused on the gift the Lord has blessed our family with. We laughed, we cried, we swam, and we ate! :) I wish I had more pictures of the boys. They had a BLAST, but the lighting in the pool wasn't great and most of my pics are too blurry and they NEVER got out of the pool, so these will have to do. It was a super emotional weekend for all of us. Luke and Ben are beginning to REALLY understand the magnitude of everything and we had some very deep conversations with them. It was both nice and heartbreaking. But I guess that is what it is to celebrate the life of our sweet boy in Heaven.

What great memories your creating for your kiddos! I think this is awesome on so many levels- your bringing the reality into prosprctive for all of you while keeping the spirit of your sweet Asher a part of your family. I hope your always able to celebrate in some way. Your children will grow up and never forget how blessed you all are to have had Asher if only for a short time. Happy Birthday sweet boy, oh how loved you are!

Blessings,
Melissa

Some of my best memories with my kids have been made when we too got poolside hotel rooms and swam together for hours!

Glad to see the pictures :-) They look like they had a blast!

What a wonderful tradition you have. It is so great to combine time as a family with setting apart time to celebrate Asher.

Happy Birthday to your sweet Asher. I think it was a lovely way to celebrate his day.I think it is so wonderful that you keep your sons alive with memories and talks to your children. They are still so young and it would be so easy for them to have no memory of their brothers, but you and your husband are doing such a beautiful job of always remembering and celebrating their special time here.
God Bless.
