Tomorrow morning Benjamin will once again go in for an outpatient surgery to correct his urinary tract. Please please pray that there are no complications, he experiences minimal pain and that it works this time so that we don't have to do this again in six months. I am trying my hardest to remain in prayer and not to worry but it is really hard to see your little one in pain and scared. It breaks my heart. In the past the moments after he wakes up are the hardest as he is hurting, confused and scared.
He will be coming home with a catheter for a week which is also not pleasant and I do NOT do well with these sorts of things. Last time it was extremely uncomfortable for him and I can only imagine what it will be like now that he is mostly potty trained.
Anyway, please keep Ben in your prayers tomorrow and in the week to come. I will update as soon as I can.

I will.
I certainly do not enjoy little kids going in for invasive tests or surgery. I wish they never had to.

I just wanted to ask you to pray for a friend of mine, Barrie, she is pregnant and is also due in June. She just found out there are some complications with her baby. I do not yet know specifically what her situation is as she sent out a general email to our church. (I am also pregnant and due the week before her and the week after you). Pray that God will give me the words to say to her during this time. I tried calling her today and she did not answer. Last night I emailed her and she replied that maybe we can get together and talk next week.
As for ideas to keep Ben still, I have a very active two year old and she loves to play with the bucket of colored rice and beans that I made for hours. All you do is take some rice and shake it in a bag with some food coloring and set it out to dry overnight on a cookie sheet. I have put it with some dried beans and give her cups and spoons etc to scoop it up. I put it on a huge plastic table cloth in my kitchen to contain ost of the spills and have found it is best to only let one child at a time play with it otherwise they get very messsy. Another fun easy activity we call spaghetti and meatballs is to take a bunch of yarn and cut it in strip toss in some craft type pomp poms form the dollar store for "meatballs". I put this in a huge bowl and give them tongs and some small bowls to play with it. One last idea is to build a fort or tent and let him bring some books stuffed animals and a flashlight or battery lantern in there to play. Have you tired watercolor painting, not to messy and might keep him still for a while.Good luck keep him down!
