It has been quite a day thus far. Ben was of course sick and so he slept with us last night, which basically means I didn't sleep. This morning his fever is much better but he is still so cranky and clingy. He will NOT let me put him down! I thought I was going to have a breakdown earlier, I needed to get a shower, get a few chores done and care for the kids and Ben would not let me do anything but hold him. Finally I just gave up and sat with him and he fell asleep. He is sleeping now...I transferred him to his bed successfully! Hopefully some additional rest will help him recover faster. Just as I layed him down our phone rang.
This phone call was one of the biggest blessings to me! It was the NICU nurse who was on duty the day Isaac died. She was so kind and so much wiser than us. She knew what we needed to do to enjoy our last moments with our son and I am forever grateful to her. She had found out at the hospital yesterday what was going on with us and was calling to see if we wanted her there on Monday! Can you believe that! The thought had crossed my mind hoping that she would be there, but she is going to go out of her way to be there with us. What an amazing lady! She will never know how much she has touched our lives.
At this point, I have fed Luke lunch, picked up toys, showered and am working on laundry so I am feeling better about life for the moment. My next chore is to sweep the floors. Dirty floors are one of my biggest pet peeves! Then I will be getting ready to head in to the doctor's office for my sonogram...
PLEASE PLEASE pray that the sonogram looks good and that we get sent right home! I am struggling with knowing this is all going to happen Monday but I know that God has it under control. I am just praying he will grant me these last few days with Happy. My appointment is at 4 p.m.

I am praying for you through this difficult time and praying you get to be with Happy a few more days. I have been following your blog for a month or so. I am grateful for our Heavenly Father and that he does hear and answer our prayers. WOW what a blessing for your family to have the same nurse reach out to help you again!! That warms my sole. I will be thinking of you. I pray you can feel Gods loving arms wrapped around you.

What a blessing to have the nurse contact YOU!! God is working things out for you and your family. Continue to be faithful and cast your fears and worries upon Him. I pray that you feel the many prayers that are being said on your behalf today.
Praying for you today. You have been on my mind all morning. It sounds like you have gotten more accomplished this morning than I have done all week and I am not pregnant! Go, girl. :) Great nurses are straight from God. Two of the NICU nurses who cared for Matilyn when she was born with gastroschisis cared for Miller Grace. It was an unspeakable comfort to leave our little girl with Lyza, the same nurse who saw Matilyn in her most fragile state right after birth, when the time came to drive away last summer. I am praying this is just the first of many surprise blessings to come! :)
And definitely praying for the ultrasound. I KNOW firsthand the value of an uneventful ultrasound!! God will not leave you. None of this is a mystery to Him!
Praying for you, your family, and your sweet little boy. What a blessing that the nurse called and offered to be with you! I hope that you are able to enjoy a wonderful, happy weekend with all your boys.

Praying you through Kristy. God has got everything covered in this, I just know it. He even arranged for your Nurse to find out and contact you. He has His eyes on the details of this time you are in and He will not abandon you. Praying that Ben continues to get better and you get the peaceful rest you need for Monday when you meet this precious baby. And for your ultrasound to go well today, and for many more blessings this week to amaze you.
And for Happy to grow by leaps and bounds this week!!
Love, Laurie in Ca.
Praying, Kristy! What a wonderful blessing that the nurse called you! When I was in the hospital a few weeks ago for induction (my baby had died), I had a wonderful nurse. She answered so many questions.
Holding you, Happy and your family up in prayer.
How awesome that you'll be able to have the support of a nurse who understands what you're going through!
I hope that Ben is getting better. Even though you have lots to do and get done before Monday, I glad you're able to snuggle with Ben and comfort him when he needs you. It's a blessing in itself when our kids "need" us...
I'm thinking of you today and will pray for a great, uneventful ultrasound.

You have been on my mind everyday. I am still praying for a miracle! Kristen

Kristy-
I am praying for you right now! I know that you are so overwhelmed and so many things are running through your mind... I'm just praying for peace, strength, and of course for Happy to be doing well so that you will enjoy a few more days with him.
I can sense the fear and confusion, YET the resolution that the Lord's will is still good. I know it was hard for me and that was my first time, as you are now walking this a second. Please be confident that there are so many praying and loving your family right now! What a beautiful blessing of your nurse... she is definitely working in God's plan for you in this time. I'll be praying that Ben will continue to heal so he will be able to come up on Monday!
Love and prayers,
Kenzie
Praying that your appointment goes well and that you Happy can stay nice and comfy inside his mama until Monday. Praising God for that sweet nurse ministering to your family, what a precious blessing.

praying for you and the ultrasound! wish i was there - even though i KNOW a sick child wants his mother- i'd for sure snuggle him and read to him and sing to him and cuddle him so you could get a break. i pray for a special someone to do that for you and that he begins to feel better soon!
